6/5/23 – Chicago, IL – Riviera Theatre
Hippie Sabotage comes to The Riviera Theatre on May 6th on their Trailblazer Tour! The duo is composed of brothers Kevin and Jeff Saurer. They are most known for the remix of the Tove Lo song “Habits (Stay High)”. Recently they’ve released singles “All at Once”, a chillwave track with a manic attitude. Saurer talks about living in the moment before the sun comes up in the recent single. In another release “I Don’t Care”, is a funky and dark track with an appropriately carefree stance. The lyrics “I don’t care” repeat as Saurer borders on the brink of emotional eruption.
The California based brothers got their producing start in their bedrooms. According to the ticket website, “the duo got their start as bedroom producers in middle school after obsessing over the music used in their favorite skateboarding videos”. They’ve taken their songs they crafted in their home studio and have taken them to the big stages of Austin City Limits, Made In America, Day N Vegas, Bumbershoot, Electric Forest, Corona Capital and Splash House.
Hippie Sabotage’s music is centered in electronic music, but they don’t limit themselves to just dance music. Unlike the singles mentioned above, songs like “Trust Nobody” and “Life Happens” take a lot of influences from trap and rap music. Their discography is diverse enough to always be captivated by what the brothers release, while also incorporating different music.
