4/5/23 – Chicago, IL – House of Blues
The pop star Hayley Kiyoko is coming to the House of Blues Chicago on May 4th! Kiyoko is celebrating her second studio album PANORAMA during her current tour. She is known for her songs “Curious” and “What I Need” which features Kehlani. Now, with her second studio album, she continues to create catchy pop hits that you can’t help but dance to.
Hayley Kiyoko has also released a breakout single entitled “Girls Like Girls”; which has become a queer anthem in it’s growing popularity. Rolling Stone states that the queer community has dubbed her “as their ‘Lesbian Jesus’”. As a kid, Kiyoko always wanted girls to cheer her name while she was performing. But as a kid, she didn’t think it was possible for people to accept her. As an adult, Kiyoko is comfortable writing about her sexuality. Her intention behind “Girls Like Girls” was to write about her experience and not feel like she is selling sex. Kiyoko normalizes her queer experience for herself, as well as the community that follows her.
Not only has Kiyoko had an impactful music career, she’s also dabbled in television. According to her IMDb, she has acted in Insidious: Chapter 3, Insecure, The Vampire Diaries and has also received directing credits for her music videos such as “I Wish”, “Sleepover” and “Feelings”.
The multi-talented pop star is a force to be reckoned with. Her talents by the mic and the camera will undoubtedly make her live performance a spectacle to remember.
