Sabrina Carpenter at the Hard Rock Live on May 16th

A talented actress and singer- songwriter, Sabrina Carpenter popped up onto the scene in 2014 as the co-star of a Disney Channel series Girl Meets World. She then went on to create a fruitful pop career, releasing albums including Top 30-charting EVOLution (2016) and her fourth, Singular: Act II (2019). While still keeping a tight grip on her music career, she continued to pursue acting, performing in movies such as Tall Girl and Clouds. After signing with top label Island Records, Carpenter dropped her fifth album, emails i can’t send (2022), becoming her highest charting album to date.

Born Sabrina Annlyne Carpenter, she became interested in performing at a young age. By age ten, she frequented auditions with her parents and scored her first part playing a guest role on NBC classic Law & Order: SVU. A couple years later she was casted in Boy Meets World. Carpenter closed a deal with Hollywood Records and released her single “Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying” in March 2014, followed by her EP (with the same name) a month later. In 2015, she dropped her full-length, Eyes Wide Open.

Since then, Sabrina has collabed with many different artists and starred in hefty roles like Hailey in The Hate U Give– as an ignorant and racist white teen, who could not come to terms that she had privilege. The movie created a lot of buzz for the singer and only further her short yet budding career.

Melanie Stewart: Hi! My name is Melanie and I am a music business/management student at Berklee College of Music. As a young child, I began vocal training and continued up until my second year of college. My experience in music has lead me to many opportunities including performing at local clubs/cafes, joining a band, and writing my own music amongst other things. Outside of music, I have a passion for business and design. I have been able to create my own business as well as co-design a website for a peer project to be used for their company. I hope to perfect my skill and further my education.
