Ari Lennox at Hard Rock Stadium on Mar. 11th

Representing Washington, D.C., Ari Lennox who was really born as Courtney Shanade Salter, made her first moves as an artist during the first half of the 2010s with her mixtape, the Ariography EP, tracks like “Bound” — all of them she sent into the musical realm from 2012 through 2014.

An honest songwriter and understated vocalist who has spoken of the musical inspirations she related to  by the likes of Minnie Riperton and Mýa, Ari Lennox has been taken under the wing of R&B/Hip-hop rapper J. Cole’s on the Dreamville roster since 2015. The singer and songwriter made her presence known with the help of the label in 2016 featuring her Pho EP, followed by her first album, Shea Butter Baby (2019), which rocketed to number seven on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart. She took part in Dreamville’s Revenge of the Dreamers III compilation and released a remix EP before she achieved a number one hit on the Adult R&B Songs chart with the single, “Pressure.” That same single pointed to the 2022 destination of her second album, age/sex/location.

Melanie Stewart: Hi! My name is Melanie and I am a music business/management student at Berklee College of Music. As a young child, I began vocal training and continued up until my second year of college. My experience in music has lead me to many opportunities including performing at local clubs/cafes, joining a band, and writing my own music amongst other things. Outside of music, I have a passion for business and design. I have been able to create my own business as well as co-design a website for a peer project to be used for their company. I hope to perfect my skill and further my education.
