Single Review: Feverhill – Trapped Under Lies

The Newest Single from Feverhill

The newly released single “Trapped Under Lies” by Feverhill is the first glimpse we hear of their newest album Follow Me Down which is set to be released late in spring of this year. Their song “Trapped Under Lies” is a small taste of their latest album and if the rest of the album is anything like this song then the album is sure to be a success.

The song opens with a driving guitar solo that instantly demands the attention of the audience. The catchy melody is easy to follow and grows on the listener very quickly. The drum beats accompanying the guitar solo help drive the sense of energy and excitement. There is what sounds like a siren heard vaguely in the background that builds the song before it breaks into Billy Resendes’s powerful vocals. This fierce guitar piece sounds like it would perfectly fit any Hollywood action film.

Resendes’s voice is quite versatile with how he is able to switch back and forth from a very melodic vocal style to his heavy metal scream. The song begins with him singing the opening lyrics and his voice seems to smoothly glide over the melody before he later tears into the main chorus wailing the lyrics. Its mesmerizing how his voice can sound soothing yet rugged at the same time. This switching between his melodic style and metal scream manages to give this track two voices which causes the audience to feel the weight that the lyrics “Trapped under the weight of all your lies” are alluding to.

This new single is practically overflowing with pulsing energy, striking guitar licks, fierce drum beats and palpable emotion from Resendes’s impressive vocal skills. The song has a steady driving rhythm and tempo that is consistent throughout the piece. “Trapped Under Lies” mixes both rock and electronic music styles, creating an unforgettable opening to their upcoming album. Heavy metal fans will love this song and get excited to hear the rest of the album. After listening to this song fans will agree that this album will definitely be worth listening to.
