Keshi at FPL Amphitheater on Mar. 4th

Keshi, whose real name is Casey Luong, was born in Houston. He began his musical journey by learning guitar at 13 years old and used this new found skill to release his first blues and singer/songwriter-styled music under his real name. While being a registered nurse, Luong decided to mix it up with his music. He adopted the alias Keshi in 2017 and uploaded demos to trial run his new musical personality and persona. It didn’t take much time for his new music to stick. Defined by lo-fi hip-hop beats, Keshi’s first singles in 2017 exploded and the fragments just so happen to land in the ears of millions. Tracks like “Just Friends” and “As Long as It Takes You” gained millions of streams and only encouraged more acoustic guitar-based material The Reaper EP (2018).

Keshi builds his infectious tracks out of lo-fi hip-hop beats and chill R&B. His songs are recognized by falsetto vocals, textural instrumentals and hip-hop percussion. His music including singles,  Skeletons EP (2019) and Bandaids EP (2020), and Top 20 debut album Gabriel (2022) helped him to tune into the growing popularity of lo-fi/chill beats inspired by huge artists like Frank Ocean and Bryson Tiller.

Melanie Stewart: Hi! My name is Melanie and I am a music business/management student at Berklee College of Music. As a young child, I began vocal training and continued up until my second year of college. My experience in music has lead me to many opportunities including performing at local clubs/cafes, joining a band, and writing my own music amongst other things. Outside of music, I have a passion for business and design. I have been able to create my own business as well as co-design a website for a peer project to be used for their company. I hope to perfect my skill and further my education.
