SZA, R&B artist from St. Louis, Missouri, has just released her second studio album, SOS. Her SOS Tour will be taking place over February and March of this year and she will make two stops in Texas in Austin and Dallas. The Austin show will take place on March 9th, 2023 at Moody Center ATX.
SZA’s career began in the early 2010s when she released two EPs before signing with Top Dawg Entertainment. In 2014, she released her third EP while also co-writing and collaborating on songs with successful R&B/rap artists such as Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, and Beyonce. Following her initial burst of fame, she released her first studio album in 2017, Ctrl, debuting at number 3 on the US Billboard 200 chart. Additionally, she earned four Grammy nominations for her work, including Best New Artist. This album release caused her to gain the large following that she has today. Following this, she released multiple songs in collaboration with other big names in the industry, including Maroon 5, Kendrick Lamar, and Doja Cat.
Her 2020 single “Good Days” and 2021 “I Hate U,” along with “Kiss Me More” reached the Top 10 chart on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2021. She also won the Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance due to this. As she continued to break records and win praise for her work in the industry, she was writing her second studio album, SOS. It debuted at number-one on the Billboard 200, ultimately breaking the record for the most successful streaming week for an R&B album.
