2/2/23 – Chicago, IL – The Vic Theatre
The indie band Fitz and The Tantrums are coming to Chicago on Feb. 2nd! They will be performing at The Vic Theatre in Lake View East. The Los Angeles band is celebrating the release of their album: Let Yourself Free which showcases their signature indie pop sound in their feel good fifth studio album.
Michael Fitzpatric leads the band with Noelle Scaggs, James King, Jeremy Ruzumna, Joseph Karnes and John Wicks supporting as The Tantrums. The group has released platinum records including “HandClap”, “The Walker” and “Out of my League”. The band is a certified hitmaker, their recent album certainly proves they won’t stop making them anytime soon (Jamusa.com).
The main single from Let Yourself Free is “Sway”. The track encourages people to enjoy themselves. It is an anthem for the lonely to find someone to embrace. Fitz comments “Strangers in a world full of lonely lovers/Find someone and take ’em by the hand”. Though this isn’t a song necessarily to find someone to love, but simply to escape the loneliness of not being in a relationship. Fitz preaches that “and all of these love songs make you sick, I know/This ain’t no karaokе partner duet/We can sway along as you losе your head”.
Let Yourself Free continues to promote a positive outlook to life. They use their music to get people dancing and having fun. In a world where we are much more open about mental health, Fitz and The Tantrums are here to sway you away from your worries.
Opening for Fitz and The Tantrums is Sammy Rash! The 20 year old indie pop artist joins Fitz on their upcoming tour. Rash is celebrating the release of his recent single “can’t say goodbye”. All of Rash’s songs are made in his bedroom. He proves that you don’t need a fancy studio to create wonderfully produced and catchy songs. Tickets are still available at axs.com!
