Show Me The Body at Gramps on Feb. 15th

Coming from the bustling state of New York comes a hardcore trio who magnify their minimal bass-and-drums assault with samples, electronic manipulation, and the infrequent and peculiar strum of a banjo. Show Me the Body are musical activists who make it their mission to protect the people and culture of their community as well as the city’s large underground music scene. The diligent impact of their music is paired with hard-hitting lyrics that speak out against the political repression of this country and the hate culture. In the beginning, attached to New York’s Letter Racer collective, they released a series of critically commended EPs and albums, including their  2016 full-length album Body War, which scored them a deal with Loma Vista. Over the next few years, Show Me the Body released a number of small releases and started a community effort called Corpus, which is based around a collaboration within their musical neighborhood. After producing music for several other Corpus artists in said community, they came back with socially conscious Dog Whistle (2019), and added even greater electronic technique on Trouble the Water (2022).

Melanie Stewart: Hi! My name is Melanie and I am a music business/management student at Berklee College of Music. As a young child, I began vocal training and continued up until my second year of college. My experience in music has lead me to many opportunities including performing at local clubs/cafes, joining a band, and writing my own music amongst other things. Outside of music, I have a passion for business and design. I have been able to create my own business as well as co-design a website for a peer project to be used for their company. I hope to perfect my skill and further my education.
