Indie-pop group Fitz and The Tantrums will be playing at Union Transfer on their Let Yourself Free Tour on Saturday, February 11th with special guest BabyJake.
The multi-platinum band Fitz and The Tantrums have played plenty of sold out headlining shows and large music festivals such as Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and more. Their danceable pop songs have been featured on film and TV soundtracks. They’ve gained a following playing televised performances on popular late night TV shows including Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Conan, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
LA-based band Fitz and the Tantrums consists Michael “Fitz” Fitzpatrick (vocals), Noelle Scaggs (vocals), James King (saxophone, flute), Jeremy Ruzumna (keyboards), Joseph Karnes (bass), and John Wicks (drums, percussion). The band formed in 2008 when Fitzpatrick wrote “Breakin’ the Chains of Love” on an old electronic organ and organized rehearsals with his college friends. They released their first EP in 2009. The band landed gigs playing on tour with Hepcat, Flogging Molly and Maroon 5 then later released their 2010 debut studio album “Pickin’ Up the Pieces”, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. With the release of the band’s second LP, More Than Just a Dream, their two singles “Out of My League” and “The Walker” reached number one on the Billboard Alternative songs chart.
On November 11th, 2022, the band released their fifth studio album, which they are promoting on their Let Yourself Free tour.
