Roddy Ricch at E11even on Dec. 30th

Influenced by artists such as Meek Mill, Future, Speaker Knockerz, and Young Thug (as well as the stylings of Atlanta trap and Chicago drill), Roddy Ricch began recording music  in his bedroom at 16 years old, speaking about his family’s ties to Lousiana and Los Angeles street life. He dropped his first album, Feed tha Streets, in late 2017. The next year, he finally got his lbig break, beginning with the release of Be 4 tha Fame EP. That summer, he released the single “Die Young,” produced by London on da Track. The song went viral and became a huge success which only furthered Ricch into the mainstream media, accruing millions of streams within months, and eventually becoming certified platinum.

Roddy Ricch inserts his contemplative rhymes to go with melodic trap, ending in a mix that has become addictive to the ears of many. The rapper charted at the top of Billboard’s 200 the next year with Please Excuse Me for Being AntiSocial (2019). Sophomore album Live Life Fast was delivered in December 2021. Both that album and 2022 Feed tha Streets III topped the charts.

Melanie Stewart: Hi! My name is Melanie and I am a music business/management student at Berklee College of Music. As a young child, I began vocal training and continued up until my second year of college. My experience in music has lead me to many opportunities including performing at local clubs/cafes, joining a band, and writing my own music amongst other things. Outside of music, I have a passion for business and design. I have been able to create my own business as well as co-design a website for a peer project to be used for their company. I hope to perfect my skill and further my education.
