Alanis Morissette Releases Holiday Cover of “Little Drummer Boy”

Alanis Morissette is back with some new/old music to light up the holiday season. The seven-time Grammy winner recently put out her own version of the Christmas classic, “Little Drummer Boy.” Check it out below:

Do we need yet another rendition of a popular folk song? Absolutely not, but Morissette’s fans as well as those who love anything to do with Christmas will most likely be quite pleased with it. The track has a solo refinement that takes away from the joy of it singing it with a crowd, but then again, pretty much every studio-recorded version of it does.

2022 has been quite the year for the seasoned singer-songwriter. Earlier this year, Morissette was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame by Olivia Rodrigo. She also put out her first meditation album, the storm before the calm, co-written with Dave Harrington (Darkside). Over the summer, she concluded her headline tour across the United States and Europe in celebration of Jagged Little Pill turning 25. Though this new holiday single isn’t anything to write home about, it’s still a nice touch to a successful year for one of music’s most accomplished figures.
