Retro-pop singer Suki Waterhouse will be playing at Union Transfer on Friday, January 27th with Blondeshell. With inspiration from artists Alanis Morissette, Missy Elliott, Sharon Van Etten and Oasis, Waterhouse combines lovelorn lyrics with a dreamy melody.
Born in London, Alice Suki Waterhouse began her career modeling at the age of 16, appearing in fashion shoots for major magazines like Vogue and Elle by the time she was 20 while walking the runway for Balenciaga, Vivienne Westwood and Burberry. She made the leap into acting with roles in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Love, Rosie, The Divergent Series: Insurgent, The Girl Who Invented Kissing, Assassination Nation, and A Rainy Day in New York. In 2023, the actress will be co-starring in Daisy Jones & the Six, an upcoming Amazon miniseries about a ’70s rock band.
In 2016, the model, actress and singer co-founded lifestyle and accessory brand Pop and Suki with Poppy Jamie, which has been worn by Lady Gaga, Pippa Middleton and Emma Stone. In the same year, Waterhouse began self-releasing singles, gaining millions of streams with 2017’s “Good Looking” and 2019’s “Coolest Place in the World”. She signed to Sub Pop Records and released her full-length debut I Can’t Let Go in April of 2022.
