Born William Grigahcine, DJ Snake’s work on Lady Gaga’s album Born This Way got him a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year in 2012. He signed with Diplo’s imprint Mad Decent that same year and released his single “Bird Machine” with the label in 2013.
After his production with R&B and Hip-Hop legend Lil John, the song hit the charts for the 2013 single “Turn Down for What”. He hit it big again with 2015’s “Lean On,” which went on to go multi-platinum and became a global chart-topper that featured Major Lazer. Not long after, he topped his previous success with 2016’s Justin Bieber collaboration “Let Me Love You,” off Snake’s Top Ten Billboard 200-charting, Encore. He has become a go-to artist for many genres and a regular on the charts, 2019’s Carte Blanche, enabled some dance hits like “Taki Taki” with Selena Gomez, Cardi B, and Ozuna, and “Fuego” with Sean Paul, Anitta, and Tainy. In 2021, he collaborated with Selena Gomez again for her song “Selfish Love” before working with Ozuna, Meg Thee Stallion and Lisa from Kpop group Black Pink for the dance single “SG.”
