Lingua Ignota will be playing at Union Transfer on Thursday, December 15th for her Repent Now Tour featuring two sets each night from November to December.
Kristin Hayter performing under the moniker Lingua Ignota is going on her first proper tour in three years. The classically trained multi-instrumentalist draws inspiration from her experiences as a domestic violence survivor. Her sound and voice are inspired by a blend of music devices with black metal, power electronics and harsh noise. The name Lingua Ignota, translating to “unknown language”, relates to the idea of a God speaking through the body. Lingua Ignota began 2017 and now has 4 studio albums. Her music traverses a breadth of genres using distortion, electronics, metal and crashing percussion.
Hayter announced her project Lingua Ignota will retire early 2023. She said the decision will promote her mental health and allow a new direction into the future of her music.
