The Vandals have announced their 27th Annual Christmas Formal will be held on Friday, Dec. 23 at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California. The punk rock band’s tradition continues this year with special guests Swingin’ Utters and In Space-Blazing Color. The 27th annual event is a double celebration as The Vandals are also celebrating their drummer Josh Freese’s 50th birthday.
Via the band’s social media, the group has announced the double celebration with the biggest Vandals’ spirit. The Vandals are set to perform a full set of solemn Christmas music as well as a few old tunes they rarely perform in their live shows. The band has also promised their fans a surprise in which their beloved drummer, Josh Freese, will make history with two pieces of wood.
Freese was featured in the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert at the Wemley Stadium in London with the Foo Fighters. This year The Vandals were a surprise act at the second annual Punk in the Park Festival in Oakland, California in which they paid tribute to Dead Kennedy’s late drummer D.H. Peligro.
The Orange County punk rock band is known for their anti-political wry humor and sarcastic lyrics. Formed in the 1980s, The Vandals continue to entertain the world with their unconventional pop-punk act. Despite its rocky start with the constant changes in the band’s lineup following the release of their debut album, When in Rome Do as The Vandals, the band remains true to themselves. The Kung Fu Records artist is best known for their incredible live energy and entertaining personas.
