The Butcher Babies are set to release their fourth studio album after completing it with producer Josh Schroeder. The band promises a series of singles leading up to that will lead up to the double album. The Butcher Babies believe that in the modern day releasing an album will not have the same effect as a chain of singles. In a world where entertainment is at a click of a button, fans cannot wait for an album. In releasing singles to the public one by one, fans can absorb the music and digest it in between releases.
This upcoming album composed of singles will be different from music previously released. These new releases will cover a wide range of new emotions that the band is excited to bring forth.
Co-vocalist Heidi Shepherd confirms that fans should expect a lot of different and strange emotions on the next album. In order to create the new music, The Butcher babies rented an Airbnb decorated with animal skulls. The soon to be released album was recorded in the dead of winter in Michigan and Shepherd believes that the environment influenced the music and listeners will be able to hear the landscape in the upcoming singles. The odd atmosphere and the bonding that comes from the frozen tundra and isolation it brings will lead to an interesting sound. While spending a winter alone in a strange and unfamiliar house of animal skulls may sound unappealing to most, Butcher Babies are excited to explore a new environment for their new album. Hopefully their writing experience will lead to a new range of emotions for their listeners to resonate with.
While the Michigan winter writing session may be strange, The Butcher Babies have never been afraid of being different. The Butcher Babies are not afraid to branch out and try their hands at different genres. The band does not want to be pigeonholed to a particular sound. The band expresses that they want to write music that speaks to them at the moment. Fans can only hope that what the band felt in the moment of that skull ridden Airbnb will lead to an interesting listening experience.
