GloRilla at LIV on Nov. 27th

GloRilla, whose real name is Gloria Woods, was born and raised in the North Memphis neighborhood of Frayser, Tennessee. As a young child, she frequented singing gospel music in her church choir, but as she came into her own as a teenager, music by Chief Keef and rapping became her forte. Encouraged by her cousin, Woods decided to take music seriously and got into the studio to recoranthem d some originals. This resulted in early songs like “You Ain’t Shit” in 2020 and “Westside Baby” in 2021. Her 2022 collab with Hitkidd sealed the deal for her spot in the mainstream media, however, not long after connecting with the producer, GloRilla entered the studio with Hitkidd and recorded “FNF (Let’s Go),” a song about independence. The song and its following video were both finished in just a single day, to which GloRilla’s confident attitude rocketed it to go viral almost instantly. Her success reached CMG founder Yo Gotti, who signed her to his label. In 2022, GloRilla appeared on the CMG showcase release Gangsta Art, as well as a remix of “Just Say That” with Duke Deuce and Quavo.

Melanie Stewart: Hi! My name is Melanie and I am a music business/management student at Berklee College of Music. As a young child, I began vocal training and continued up until my second year of college. My experience in music has lead me to many opportunities including performing at local clubs/cafes, joining a band, and writing my own music amongst other things. Outside of music, I have a passion for business and design. I have been able to create my own business as well as co-design a website for a peer project to be used for their company. I hope to perfect my skill and further my education.
