Chicago’s Metro hosts Canadian band METZ and supporting act Spiritual Cramp in December. Help celebrate the METZ: 10 Years Anniversary Tour on Dec. 16 for their stop in the Windy City.
One decade ago, fans got their first taste of the group’s self-titled debut studio album, METZ. On Dec. 16, fans can once again experience the glory of this 2012 LP. To boost excitement for the METZ: 10 Years Anniversary Tour as well as recognize the historical milestone, the band published a new version of METZ in Oct. 2022, titled METZ (Deluxe Edition). Originally a 10-track project, METZ (Deluxe Edition) expands the album to 13 songs with “BBC Maida Vale Session” versions of “Wet Blanket,” “Get Off” and “Wasted.” The original METZ record finished with “Negative Space” and if listeners are patient enough, a hidden track plays at the song’s end.
The Canadian punks of METZ have completed four studio albums during their music career. After METZ, the rockers released II in 2015, Strange Peace in 2017 and finally Atlas Vending as their most recent new record in 2020, not including their 2021 live album titled Live at the Opera House. In addition to their LPs, METZ has a long history of producing EPs, with recent works such as Acid in 2021 and Come On Down in 2022. Both consist of two tunes each.
Prepare for a night of punk rock at the city’s Metro by listening to METZ and its 2022 deluxe version prior to attending the METZ: 10 Years Anniversary Tour show in Chicago. The concert includes a performance by special guest Spiritual Cramp. Snag some tickets to see METZ on Dec. 16 at Metro by visiting etix.com.
