Enjoy a night with legends as Depeche Mode lights up the stage on Apr. 5, 2023. Their Chicago stop of the electronic music band’s Memento Mori Tour takes place at the city’s United Center, with no opening act scheduled yet.
Currently a duo, Depeche Mode consists of original members Martin Gore and David Gahan. The pair aims to release Memento Mori next year, in March of 2023, giving Chicago fans some time to get acquainted with the new material before the United Center concert on Apr. 5. This album is especially meaningful as it’s the first by Depeche Mode since the loss of co-founding member and keyboardist Andy Fletcher in May of 2022. The band is determined to keep his memory alive with their music.
Depeche Mode’s musical repertoire consists of almost three decades worth of gold and platinum records. The U.K. band, originally named Composition of Sound in their early days, consistently charts around the world after each new LP release. Some of their most notable work includes “Just Can’t Get Enough” from 1981 debut album Speak & Spell, “Personal Jesus” as part of 1990 hit LP Violator and sensation “Enjoy the Silence,” featured on Violator. In addition to their triumphs in music, Depeche Mode has engaged in philanthropic efforts such as contributing to cancer research funds and raising money to give clean drinking water to those in need.
Snag tickets for Depeche Mode before it’s too late, and catch the performance when April hits next year. Prior to the show, enjoy hearing tracks from Memento Mori, set to drop in 2023. Though the show’s opener is still undecided, fans are in for a good time with Depeche Mode as the headlining act on Apr. 5 at Chicago’s United Center. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com.
