Kaonashi at Gramps on Dec. 7th

Kaonashi is performing at Gramps on December 7th.

Band Kaonashi from Philadelphia says they want to create change. The group of five include Peter Rono (vocals), Ryan Paolilli (drums), August Axcelson (bass/vocals), Alex Hallquist (guitar/vocals), and Roger Alvarez (guitar). They aspire to build compassion and understanding through art and connect with the masses through this musical avenue. They know that music has always been a way of bringing people together. It is their goal to use the large, yet important platform that their success has provided to incrementally change the world around them

Dear Lemon House, You Ruined Me: Senior Year was the story-building efforts of Kaonashi’s 2018 EP, Why Did You Do It?, Kaonashi used this album to expand Jamie, the protagonist of the group’s character. “As the teen enters their final year of high school, Jamie feels the pressure to succeed and make something of their life. The record follows Jamie through their first day of school, romantic relationship with Casey, and the turmoil that comes with being an American teenager.” (Equal Vision)

“We want this record to make people anxious,” said vocalist Peter Rono. “We want them to feel a sense of urgency. If they catch themselves thinking that they could do something to change the story of the album, then maybe — just maybe — they will take steps to make a difference in the world around them.”

Melanie Stewart: Hi! My name is Melanie and I am a music business/management student at Berklee College of Music. As a young child, I began vocal training and continued up until my second year of college. My experience in music has lead me to many opportunities including performing at local clubs/cafes, joining a band, and writing my own music amongst other things. Outside of music, I have a passion for business and design. I have been able to create my own business as well as co-design a website for a peer project to be used for their company. I hope to perfect my skill and further my education.
