Jarreau Vandal at Freehold Nov. 29th

Jarreau Vandal wants you to join him at Freehold on November 29th!

Born in Maastricht and raised in Amsterdam, Jarreau grew up in a musical family surrounded by culturally rich genres like Jazz, soul & funk. As a kid growing up in the 90’s, he was also heavily influenced by Hip-Hop, rock and of course R&B. Popular artists such as Jamiroquai, A Tribe Called Quest, Red Hot Chili Peppers and others inspired him to start making music.

At a young age, Jarreau set forth in his musical journey by playing the drums which introduced a different view on how music is created. His Grandfather (which also happens to be a music producer)  passed on his musical wisdom and knowledge to  his grandson. The music production program Logic, was something Jarreau was learning at 16, when there are big time producers using that very same application. Since then, Jarreau never stopped producing.

After establishing himself as a part of the Amsterdam based clubnight focused on new electronics, he became a resident DJ and promoter. Jarreau met ‘IAMNOBODI’, an artist he greatly admires. This relationship turned out to be a good thing for Jarreau as after hearing his tracks and remixes, IAMNOBODI introduced him to Joe Kay, one of the founders of the L.A. based label “Soulection”. Jarreau released his first ep “the Jarreau Vandal white label” with Souelection

Melanie Stewart: Hi! My name is Melanie and I am a music business/management student at Berklee College of Music. As a young child, I began vocal training and continued up until my second year of college. My experience in music has lead me to many opportunities including performing at local clubs/cafes, joining a band, and writing my own music amongst other things. Outside of music, I have a passion for business and design. I have been able to create my own business as well as co-design a website for a peer project to be used for their company. I hope to perfect my skill and further my education.
