Winter is on its way, and so is Maggie Rogers. The singer-songwriter is set to perform on Feb. 17 with opening act Del Water Gap. Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom will host the concert as part of Rogers’ trek around North America and Europe, titled The Feral Joy Tour. Pre-sale tickets for her Chicago show are available at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
Critics met Rogers’ newest album Surrender with positive reviews. The singer dropped her sophomore studio album during the summer of 2022. Surrender consists of 12 tracks, three of which are singles. The pre-released singles include “Horses,” “That’s Where I Am” and “Want Want.” Del Water Gap –supporting act for The Feral Joy Tour– helped produce “Want Want” in addition to the album’s fourth track, “Anywhere With You.” The tour’s title, The Feral Joy Tour, appears in a poem on her website.
Maryland artist Maggie Rogers started making music during college in 2012. She and Samuel Holden Jaffe started Del Water Gap as a duo, with Jaffe later taking the reins as a one-man project under the stage name when Rogers became a soloist. Throughout her career she has developed her signature sound, a fusion of folk and electronic dance music.
In 2019, Rogers released her debut studio album, Heard It In A Past Life. The album performed commercially well around the globe and topped U.S. charts. In 2020, Rogers was recognized with a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist as a result of Heard It In A Past Life. In addition to music, Rogers participates in activism by declaring support for gun control and women’s health rights.
