Following a successful summer packing stadium across North America, Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard have decided to keep the party going. The two forces have now extended their co-headlining tour internationally, with shows scheduled to take place in Mexico, South America, the UK and Europe next year.
The tour’s overseas leg will commence with mid-February shows in Mexico City and Monterrey, after which they’ll hop across to South America from late February through mid-March. From there, both bands will take the UK and Europe from late May through early July.
Following a two-year delay due to the pandemic, Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard finally got their “Stadium Tour” off the ground this June. Because Crüe drummer Tommy Lee had broken ribs at the time, he was only able to perform a select number of songs each night, though he eventually recovered and began playing complete sets. The story, however, is never that simple with him — once his health was steady, he began making the news for encouraging members of the audience to expose themselves during the show. Still, the North American ended up being a huge success, generating massive audiences and approximately $173.5 million in ticket sales. (Consequence)
“We had an incredible time playing the Stadium Tour in North America this summer and we truly can’t wait to take the show around the globe with the World Tour in 2023,” Mötley Crüe said while announcing their extended trek. “Crüeheads in Latin America and Europe: Get ready!!”
