Depeche Mode is back with a new album and a full world tour. The Memento Mori World Tour will begin in March 2023 and includes a stop at the Kia Forum on March 28.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2020 inductees Depeche Mode announced their upcoming 15th studio album, Memento Mori, set to release spring 2023. The announcement also revealed a world tour for 2023. The tour will be Depeche Mode’s 19th tour and their first live shows in five years for the band.
Dave Gahan and Martin Gore revealed that the Live Nation-presented tour will begin with special North American arena dates starting March 23, 2023, before the band heads to Europe for their summer stadium tour. The limited North American dates will feature stops in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and more.
Memento Mori will be the follow-up to 2017’s critically acclaimed Spirit. The album was recorded during the COVID pandemic in 2020. It was momentarily paused following the passing of founding member Andy Fletcher after suffering an aortic dissection at home. The album was produced by James Ford and Marta Salogni.
Depeche Mode was founded in England in 1980 by Dave Gahan, Martin Fore, Andy Fletcher, and Vince Clarke. The band released their debut album, Speak And Spell, in 1981 launching them in the British new wave scene. Following the departure of Vince Clarke following the release of the album, the band remained a trio until 2022. The band became recognized as the biggest influential group in the music scene due to their ever-evolving musical legacy.
