Pusha T was born as Terrence Thornton in the Bronx but was raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia alongside his brother Gene Thornton. Pusha T’s brother took on the stage name Malice, and together the brothers formed Clipse in the early ’90s. The pair formed a relationship with Pharrell Williams, commencing a fruitful career that would include major-label record deals and critically revered albums. In 2010, the brothers broke up the dynamic to focus on solo careers. Pusha T was able to sign with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label and featured on his album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy that same year.
After his mixtape releases in 2011, official debut album in 2013, features with big groups in 2017 (Linkin Park and Gorillaz), feud with drake — of which caused a back and forth of musical combat — and singles with artists Lauryn Hill and Kash Doll, Pusha T worked to release a new album. Hip Hop/R&B icons, Kayne West and Pharrell Williams, almost entirely produced his album It’s Almost Dry which was released in April of 2022.
