Girls Against Boys are reuniting once again, this time to honor the 25th anniversary of their fifth album, House of GVSB. The band is finally able to embark on a celebratory tour this year after postponing the tour last year. Girls Against Boys have added a new date to their tour for a total of nine shows across the U.S. including a stop in Los Angeles on Friday, Oct. 7 at the Echoplex.
For the first time in five years, Girls Against Boys are reuniting to hit the road for the 25th anniversary of their fifth studio album, House of GVSB. The 11-track album earned several recognitions as the “Album of the Year” in various publications in 1996. In honor of their album and as a special gift to fans, Girls Against Boys released a two-disc reissue with the addition of b-sides and limited releases in the House of GVSB 25th Anniversary Edition. The new LP is also accompanied by nine shows in major U.S. cities to celebrate the album alongside fans like never before.
Girls Against Boys originally formed in 1989, releasing seven albums until their split in 2009. In 2013, the band briefly reunited, self-releasing their first album in 11 years titled The Ghost List. Several years later, the band regrouped once again only to perform a couple of special shows at Riot Fest, Sound on Sound Fest and a celebratory show in honor of vocalist Scott McCloud’s 50th birthday. The band currently consists of vocalist Scott McCloud, multi-instrumentalist Eli Janney, bassist Johnny Temple and drummer Alexis Fleisig.
Though the band has reunited once again since 2021, they have not been able to safely engage with their fans in North America for their long-awaited tour. However, the time has finally arrived as Girls Against Boys are expected to perform throughout the U.S. this October 2022. Though Girls Against Boys had to sadly cancel shows in Milwaukee and Philadelphia, due to rescheduling conflicts, they have added a show on Oct. 8 in San Diego following their Oct. 7 LA show.
