William Schultz (Sueco), is an American rapper and producer from Los Angeles, California. He signed with Atlantic Records two months after releasing his song “Fast” online which was released on April 1st, 2019. This artist has lived and breathed the alternative culture his entire life.
This artist like a lot of artists used his pain to transform it into art. Music became therapy and a way for Sueco to relieve his feelings when his mom passed away due to breast cancer. “I decided I wanted to make music and pursue this life when my mum passed away from breast cancer when I was 15. It was a terrible time, and I was in a dark place. Where I found release and comfort was through music and its creation. The artist remarks that he would have a hard time processing his own feelings and that music was a way for him to express the way he felt, and therefore get a better understanding of it.
Rap music was a big part of Sueco’s life since growing up because of where he grew up and the people he was around. He didn’t focus on making rap until he started making beats. He started making beats when he was 17, his first instrument was the drums. When he moved to university he started creating beats with his laptop, and then he realized he had plenty of beats to rap with so he started rapping.
