LeAnn Rimes is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Rimes started her career in music at the age of 13. She was raised in Texas and demonstrated at a very young age her unique ability of signing. Her parents made sure her daughter was able to follow her passions so she started performing in various programs, theaters, and local music contests.
Rimes has sold over 37 million records worldwide, with 20.8 million album sales in the United States, and ranked her number 17 in terms of sales success in the 1990–2000 decade.
Locals were supportive of Rimes right away. Rimes had luck since she was young and she recorded two studio albums as a preteen. These records helped bring her to the attention of Nashville label Curb Records. She signed a contract with Curb at age 13 and released 1996’s “Blue”. It became a top ten hit on the Billboard country songs chart. In 1996 her album sold over six million copies and established her as a major country artist in the music industry.
Later on in her career, Rimes decided to break away from her father’s management. When she decided to do this she started experimenting with more styles of music like pop. Rimes tries to talk about the difficult experiences in her life through her music, she doesn’t sugarcoat her music.
