Fireworks Go Off Indoors During Dua Lipa Toronto Show Injuring Multiple People

As the Grammy-award winning English singer Dua Lipa was performing a show on Wednesday, fireworks were set off in the crowd. This led to the injury of multiple fans in attendance at the show in Toronto, Canada. Consequence of Sound reports that the singer-songwriter has made a statement and apology on the situation via social media.

The popstar begins her statement by explaining that “Last night, unauthorized fireworks went off in the crowd during my set in Toronto.” She makes clear that “Creating a safe and inclusive space at my shows is always my first priority, and my team and I are just as shocked and confused by the events as you all are. There is an ongoing investigation into the events being conducted, and everyone is working hard to find how this incident occurred.”

She goes on to offer an apology to concerned or hurt fans: “I’m so deeply sorry for anyone who was scared, felt unsafe or whose enjoyment of the show was affected in any way. All my love, Dua.”

While multiple fans sustained minor burns due to the fireworks, luckily, none were seriously injured. According to Consequence, three attendees were seen by medics following the incident, but all of them did not need much further medical attention. See a video of the incident via Twitter below.

Dua Lipa has recently released a single and music video “Potion” with Calvin Harris. In June, Dua Lipa was sued for second time after allegedly posting a paparazzi photo to her Instagram page.
