There’s music that has the ability to transport us to new places. There is even a term for this feeling. Escapism is part of the beautiful music Rufus Du Sol makes. The Australian group mentioned that when they are in their studio making music, they feel like they are being transported into “beautiful, escapist wonderland,” and if you listen to their music what they say totally aligns with how the music makes you feel.
James Hunt, Jon George, and Tyrone Lindqvist are the three members of Rufus Du Sol. These Australian natives started making music together in 2013. They are currently touring their new album SURRENDER across the world in 2022.
Rufus Du Sol came into the music scene to bring innovation. Their alternative dance electronica house music is magic. A fun fact about this group is that they record music in places that are assigned by a shaman, there is a mystery behind the music.
Hunt says the group tries to capture certain moods but also the environment they are writing in. George says they are able to create their own little fantasy world the same way an author would be writing a novel. My favorite quote by George is “You can just drive back into it and forget about everything or at least, you know, embrace some of those feelings and move forward.”
