Earlier this week, 80s rock legends Guns N’ Roses canceled a show in Glasgow, Scotland. Frontman Axl Rose subsequently posted a statement on social media addressing the health issues that led to the band’s decision. In it, he revealed that he is currently working with a vocal coach so he can recover and get back to performing. Read the statement below:

The band played two shows in England on July 1 and 2 — on the second night, according to Loudwire, Rose even told the audience that he was struggling to sing. The band adjusted to the singer’s discomfort and played the rest of the show by accommodating him at a lower pitch. This past Monday, their Glasgow show scheduled for the following night was canceled  “due to illness and medical advice.”

Though Rose never specified his exact condition, guitarist Richard Fortus wrote in a comment on his Facebook that the frontman “was really struggling. He damaged his vocal cords.”

So far, the band hasn’t canceled any more shows. Their next concert in Munich is scheduled to take place tomorrow (July 8) followed by a number of dates in Europe.
