Halsey Concert in Maryland Canceled Due to Weather Concerns and Venue Flooding

The Grammy award-winning popstar Halsey was all set to perform a show in Columbia, Maryland on Wednesday night, before weather trouble started to put a wrench in her plans. Initially, the concert was set to start at 7:00 PM on Wednesday. This was pushed back due to extreme weather and flooding.

Consequence Sound reports that the situation worsened immediately after fans were allowed into the venue. The venue quickly became a pool filled with the storm’s rainwater. Videos were recorded and posted all over social media showing as the water gradually starts to flood the venue, the water gathering primarily at the front row. One video saw a member of the crew kicking a squirrel off of the stage in the midst of the chaos, leading many people on social media to wonder if the animal is okay.

After perhaps too long, the venue decided to shut down the show tweeting out “The Halsey show will not be happening due to weather-related technical difficulties.”

The situation prompted many fans on social media to have a laugh at the situation, with one tweeting out ““Halsey’s team went all out with the special effects for this tour.” See footage of the incident and responses from fans below.

Less amused at the situation was Halsey herself, who put out a statement over Twitter stating that she is “beyond disappointed with the way the venue handled everything tonight,” noting that she will reschedule her concert and hold it at a different location.

Halsey’s Spring Tour is currently ongoing, with dates scheduled into July.
