The ferocious heavy metal outfit Lamb of God has announced a new full length album titled Omens, scheduled for release on October 7. The metal titans will also be headlining a Fall 2022 tour, titled The Omens Tour with Killswitch Engage and other metal acts in honor of the new album.
Omens, produced by Josh Wilbur, has been advertised as perhaps this band’s most seething record to date. Vocalist Randall Blythe explains the intention of the new album by stating that “The world is crazy and keeps changing. Omens is a reaction to the state of the world. It’s a very pissed-off record… It is extremely pissed-off.”
The project was recorded live at Henson Recording Studio in Los Angeles. The band’s guitarist Mark Morton has noted that the band is currently at the top of its game; something that shines both in the band’s performances and in its new album: “The inner workings of the band have never been better. You can hear it in Omens. You can see it in our performances, and if you’re around us for five minutes, you can feel it.” The album has been made available for pre-order here.
