The Gorillaz are back! The world’s most successful virtual act is being brought back to life by Damon Albarn and a 14-piece live band for a rare North American Tour. The tour includes two Los Angeles dates, one of which is already sold out.
The Gorillaz are set to perform at the Forum on Friday, September 23rd and due to an overwhelming demand, it will be followed by another show at the YouTube Theater on Sunday, September 25th. The show will include special guest Earthgang as part of the band’s first stateside tour since 2018.
The Gorillaz are an English virtual band formed by the famous Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett. The two stars created four animated members when composing the Gorillaz: 2-D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle, and Russel Hobbs. The fictional characters have been expanded through comic strips, short cartoons and music videos. The act is most recognized for their genre-bending musical brilliance and smashing hit songs such as “Clint Eastwood,” “Feel Good,” “On Melancholy Hill,” and so much more.
Though Gorillaz are a virtual band, they are truly a global phenomenon and have achieved ground-breaking success. They’ve earned countless of awards including The Guinness Book Of World Records as the world’s Most Successful Virtual Act, the Jim Henson Creativity Honor and over 20 different music awards.
