Earthless Shreds At The Echo

The night was filled with drinks, music, headbangs, and of course, insane guitar shreds during Earthless’ live performance at The Echo on Friday, February 25^th. After having to reschedule several tour dates in Southern California, the psychedelic rock band was finally able to perform their latest record, Night Parade Of One Hundred Demons, live in Los Angeles, California.

The show began with a performance by the opening band, Birth, a psychedelic rock band from San Diego, California just like Earthless themselves. Despite waiting over an hour for the show to start, the crowd was still pretty pumped and cheery, though, for some, it might have been the alcohol kicking in. Nevertheless, the crowd was pumped up by Birth’s performance as many guests fiercely head banged alongside lead guitarist Brian Ellis’ killer guitar shreds and the drummer’s insane drumming in which he came close to knocking over his drum set a couple of times. The band performed some of their latest music from their debut demo EP Birth, such as “Cosmic Tears” and “Long Way Down.” The strong bass and smashing drums radiated into the crowd creating a unique sensation in the intimate venue.

The venue was filled with fans and friends of Earthless. The crowd was filled with special guests such as Oscar Burgos, the drummer of Johnny Nasty Boots, professional skateboarder and actor Don Nguyen, drummer Brian Griffin, and many more.

After a few more drinks and socializing, the crowd was ecstatic to finally hear the San Diego psychedelic rock band perform their latest record, Night Parade Of One Hundred Demons, an album that consists of 3 tracks ranging over 20 minutes long each.

Of course, it would not be an Earthless performance if it did not include their signature improvisations and surprise jams. With psychedelic images projected in the background and mind-blowing music such as the fan-favorite track “Cherry Red,” Earthless created a unique atmosphere with non-stop intensity. The crowd was eager to start a mosh pit to go alongside the insane percussion skills by Mario Rubalcaba and Isaiah Mitchell’s mind-boggling guitar shreds.

It should be considered physically impossible what this trio can do live for hours on stage, but it is absolutely a once-in-a-lifetime experience to watch Earthless perform live. Nonetheless, if you enjoy shred fests or simply are looking to experience something unique, be sure to stop by at an Earthless concert.
