Coheed and Cambria have shared a new single – titled “The Liars Club” – alongside an animated video as part of its upcoming album, Vaxis II: A Window of the Waking Mind. The rock band also revealed dates for its summer 2022 North American tour.
“The Liars Club,” which follows single “Shoulders,” features fun and catchy riffs throughout the track, which is seemingly about living in an alternate reality and constantly avoiding the truth in order to escape issues within the truth. The animated video opens up with a futuristic scene of an apocalyptic universe, in which two heroic characters are on the run from tyrannical forces. Matching the meaning of the song, the video shows the lengths these “liars” will go to avoid true reality. The video is a continuation of the five-part “Vaxis” arc, which is based on the graphic novel “A Window of the Waking Mind,” developed by Coheed and Cambria member Claudio Sanchez.
The tour in support of Vaxis II: A Window of the Waking Mind, will be the band’s first in five years. It will initiate on July 12 in Miami, Florida, and conclude August 17 in Troutdale, Oregon. The full list of dates can be viewed below.
