Pearl Jam React To Nikki Sixx Calling Them “Boring”

After Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam gave colored criticism to Motley Crüe, making clear his disdain for the glam metal scene of the 1980s and 1990s, Motley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx responded by calling them “boring” on social media. Pearl Jam then responded indirectly with a tweet.

The feud began earlier this year when Vedder spoke with the New York Times. He said, “You know, I used to work in San Diego loading gear at a club. I’d end up being at shows that I wouldn’t have chosen to go to — bands that monopolized late-’80s MTV. The metal bands that — I’m trying to be nice — I despised. ‘Girls, Girls, Girls‘ and Mötley Crüe: fuck you. I hated it. I hated how it made the fellas look. I hated how it made the women look. It felt so vacuous.”

In response, Sixx took to Twitter, calling them “one of the most boring bands in history.”

While Pearl Jam did not respond directly to Sixx, the band did post a tweet saying they loved their “bored fans” with an attached video of their fans cheering at a performance.
