Award-winning band alt-J released their new song February 7, ahead of their February 11 album release, which they titled The Dream. Band members Joe Newman, Gus Unger-Hamilton, and Thom Green released three studio albums, which have sold two million copies.
The band said inspiration for their new song, titled “The Actor,” came from “Hollywood, 1982. Another hopeful young move star arrives in search of The Dream. What follows is a tale of desperation, drugs, and death in LA’s most famous hotel. It’s ‘The Actor.'” The heavenly new track can be listened to below.
The band will perform with Portugal. The Man on tour with guests Sir Chloe and Cherry Glazerr on select dates. Their first tour date is February 25 in Pittsburgh, PA, and their tour will conclude April 17 in Toronto, ON.
