Swedish folk singer Kristian Matsson, who goes by the stage name The Tallest Man on Earth, will be performing at NYC’s Webster Hall on Thursday, March 10th, 2022. This is the rescheduled date for his cancelled 2020 tour. The show begins at 8:00PM, and doors open an hour prior, at 7:00PM. Tickets for the show can be purchased on AXS running from $30.00-$35.00, or at the venue door the day of the show for $35.00.
Matsson began his solo career in 2006, and released his first album, Shallow Grave, in 2008. His music is heavily influenced by American folk music, and has been compared to Bob Dylan. His latest album, I Love You, It’s a Fever Dream, was released in 2019, and was recorded almost entirely in his Brooklyn apartment. The album is minimalist, relying mainly on acoustic guitar, bajo and the occasional harmonica — the effect is a transient, sincere sound that leaves room for Matsson’s intricate lyrics and vocals.
Whether you had tickets for the cancelled show, or just want to hear some quality American folk from one of the leaders in the genre, this is a show you won’t want to miss.
