Hardcore band Turnstile has released a new EP, Turnstile Love Connection, alongside an accompanying short-film based on the four-track project, which is directed by the band’s singer Brendan Yates. The band has also expanded their 2021 and 2022 tour dates, which will include stops in Brooklyn, New York; Austin, Texas; Barcelona, Spain; and Clisson, France.
“TURNSTILE LOVE CONNECTION” the film, is nearly 12 minutes long and was shot in numerous locations including Panavision, New York; Baltimore, Maryland and even Arecibo, Puerto Rico. The first EP track “Holiday,” is shot in an abandoned baseball field, where the members perform and roam the premises. “No Surprise” briefly appears next, as Franz Lyons sits on the porch of an idyllic house right next to Delia Parrish. “Mystery” appears next, as the band’s members explore an empty amphitheater, while a couple of its members journey throughout a metropolis via dirtbike. “T.L.C (Turnstile Love Connection,” closes out the film, as the band performs on a green screen set, before the credits roll.
Turnstile will be hitting the road alongside a number of noteworthy performers including, Show Me The Body, Never Ending Game, Gulch, Lil Ugly Mane, Narrow Head, Hey Cowboy and Sex Pill. Their performance at Primavera Sound will host artist such as Massive Attack, Tame Impala, The Strokes, Gorillaz, Tyler, The Creator, Dua Lipa, Lorde and Megan Thee Stallion.
Hailing from Baltimore, Turnstile are known for their unique take on the hardcore genre, blending ambient sensibilities and breezy electronics with their distinct style. The band held a performance at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles back in 2019.
