Dawes, Bonny Light Horseman, and Erin Rae to perform a night of folk music at SummerStage

Folk-Rock band Dawes will perform at Central Park SummerStage on Friday, September 17th — the show will feature fellow folk bands Bonny Light Horseman and Erin Rae. The show is scheduled to run from 7:00pm-10:00pm, with doors opening at 6:00pm. Tickets are general admission, and can be purchased for $46.50.

Dawes has been an important figure in the U.S. folk scene since their debut album, North Hills, in 2009. Their sound has been described as being derived from 1970s artists like Joni Mitchell and Neil Young. Their 2020 album, Good Luck With Whatever, reached number 5 on Billboard’s folk charts. The SummerStage performance is just one stop on their extensive 2021 tour, which will feature Erin Rae.

Bonny Light Horseman is a folk supergroup composed of AnaÏs Mitchell, Eric D Johnson and Josh Kaufman who are known for their work with The Shins, The Fruit Bats, and The National. The band was formed in 2018, and their 2020 self-titled album reached number 1 on the Billboard folk charts.

Erin Rae is a folk-pop band led by Erin Rae McKaskle, whose music is often compared to Joni Mitchell and Jackson Brown. Rolling Stone describes her music as being smooth and “perfect for Sunday afternoons.”

This concert will feature some of the most prominent voices in modern folk music, and is sure to be a great show.
