The Neighbourhood recently announced two US outdoor shows to take place this October: One at Forest Hills Stadium in New York on October 2 and one at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 9. These performances will be a one-of-a-kind experience as the group brings Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones live for the first time, exclusively to these shows, in place of a traditional tour run. Pre-sale began on June 15, and tickets will be sold to the public on June 18 at 10:00 am. These are the only US performances scheduled before the band heads to Europe.
The show announcements followed with the success of The Neighborhood’s fourth full-length album Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones, which V Magazine described as “sunny, vibrant, rawly authentic” and features standout tracks like “Stargazing,” which features video appearances from the likes of Blake Griffin, Lana Del Rey, Mac DeMarco, Jaden Smith, Benny Blanco, Devon Carlson and Alexa Demie. Chip Chrome is the alter-ego of frontman Jesse Rutherford, who stepped into the spotlight on the 2019 single “Middle of Somewhere.” “I think Chip was really about saying, ‘We don’t know what’s going to happen, but you’re never going to know what to expect from us, because we might switch it up’,” Rutherford says. “At the end of the day, this is an art project. It’s supposed to be fun. I feel like the boys and I are closer than ever. It’s amazing we get to live this life of music together. If we still get to have a voice in the world, we’re going to use it. Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones helped define my voice. The more I hear it, the more I think, ‘This is totally a Neighbourhood record’.”
