The Foo Fighters will be performing at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, June 20th. The show begins at 8:00pm, with doors opening at 7:00pm. Tickets are sold out on Ticketmaster, but originally retailed for $50.00-$119.00, and can be purchased at higher prices from secondary ticket sellers. This is the first 100% capacity concert in a New York City arena since COVID-19 lockdowns began in March of 2020. Guests will have to prove they have been fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus — they must provide their vaccine card and an ID that matches the name on the card.
Dave Grohl founded the Foo Fighters in 1994 after the death of his Nirvana bandmate, Kurt Cobain. Grohl originally intended for Foo Fighters to be a solo project, and created the debut album, Foo Fighter on his own. However, he quickly recruited Nate Mendell, William Goldsmith, and Pat Smear to work on subsequent albums and perform with him. The Foo Fighters have gained immense mainstream success and critical admiration — nine of their albums have reached the top ten of the Billboard 200, and they’ve won a total of twelve Grammy Awards.
The Foo Fighters’ 2021 shows are in support of their tenth studio album, Medicine at Midnight. The album, released in February of this year, showcases a diversion from their traditional sound, and incorporates elements of pop and dance music. Grohl describes the album as being very “fun” and filled with rock anthems that fans can sign along to — he compares Medicine at Midnight to David Bowie’s iconic Let’s Dance album.
If you like The Foo Fighters, and want to hear them like you’ve never heard them before, this isn’t a show you want to miss.
