All Them Witches is an American rock band based out of Nashville, Tennessee consisting of members Robby Staebler (drums), Charles Michael Parks Jr. (vocalist/multi-instrumentalist), Ben McLeod (guitarist), and Allan Van Cleave (keyboardist). The name “All Them Witches” comes from a book of witchcraft, All of Them Witche, featured in the 1968 film Rosemary’s Baby.
The band formed in 2012 with Staebler having recently moved to Nashville looking for other musicians to start a band. Staebler recruited Mcleod after meeting him at a bar, followed by Parks while they were both working for “a corporate hippie store.” The band managed to become the first American band to be signed to the German Psych record label, Elektrohasch Schallplatten.
With 7 studio albums released, with Nothing as the Ideal being their latest album that was released in 2020. This album is their most experimental to date, From the brimming light of the lead guitar on opener “Saturnine & Iron Jaw” to the mellow grunge unfolding in the finale “Rats in Ruin,” Nothing as the Ideal is a signature All Them Witches release, which of course means it sounds like nothing they’ve ever done before.
