Purity Ring @ ACL Live at the Moody Theater 11/28

In celebration of their newest album WOMB, Purity Ring will hit Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater Sunday, November 28 with doors opening at 6:30 pm and music commencing at 8 pm. This show is ages 14+ with general admission tickets set at $31.

Purity Ring, a dream-pop electronic duo from Canada, is comprised of vocalist Megan James and producer Corin Roddick. James and Roddick were life-long friends previously a part of the band Gobble Gobble when Roddick started producing music inspired by the sounds of contemporary R&B and hip-hop, he looked to James to add lyrics and vocalizations working on a collaboration online. After the release of only two singles in 2011, Ungirthed and Belispeak, the ethereal duo was signed with 4AD records in 2012. Their following album “Shrines” reached number 32 on Billboard 200 Albums Chart with a further climactic release of their album Another Eternity in 2015 that peaked at number 26 on the Billboard 200 and reached 25 on Canadian Albums Chart.

WOMB, their first album in five years, was named in the comforting feeling of a “kind of home and the way I self-medicate and come to terms with what’s going on around me. A lot of the album is about family and community and warmth and sort of putting life – however one has it – into a comforting place” as James likes to put it. With muses of bodies, blood, and a girl’s coming of age, Purity Ring’s performance of WOMB will create an atmosphere that will be a delight for anyone apart of the show.
