Singer-songwriter Lauren Sanderson is a proud Midwesterner, here to show you that Midwest Kids Can Make it Big. The up-and-coming pop artist released her debut album Midwest Kids Can Make it Big in January 2020 and was ready to hit the road. Unfortunately Covid-19 had other plans and her US Tour was pushed back one year. She’s scheduled to hit the road this April and will be stopping in Los Angeles at The Troubadour on May 14, 2021.
What started as a bedroom closet DIY project blossomed into a loyal cult fanbase with the help of her YouTube following and coveted Spotify list placements. After releasing a handful of EPs, Sanderson toured with Finneas in 2019. Her debut EP Center of Expression started her journey into pop stardom and she was named an “artist to watch” by Young Hollywood. Subsequently, her second EP Spaces reached No. 1 on the iTunes R&B albums chart and No. 24 on Billboard Heatseekers chart. The Indiana native landed a record deal with Epic Records and relocated to Los Angeles.
Sanderson presents a fresh take on pop music, blending influences from r&b and hip-hop. Her influences include Mac Miller, Logic, and Tyler, the Creator. Sanderson creates music to encourage her fans to be “the voice for people who may not be able to speak.”
