Electronic music producer Zedd has teamed up with singer-songwriter Griff on the new song “Inside Out,” which is already a massive success on streaming platforms getting over 9.6 million plays on Spotify alone. The single is out now via Interscope Records, while a music video directed by Rianne White has now debuted.
“Inside Out” sees Griff entering a mansion at night, with her and Zedd both shown playing video games right after her entrance. The video then sees the two exploring the mansion during the day, with Griff singing and walking across the garden as Zedd drives around in a motorcycle. This track is straight ahead electronic pop, with Griff’s emotional verses leading up to an upbeat electro drop with catchy synths and trap inspired percussion. Griff’s voice is inspired by passionate R&B, which goes well with the electronic instrumental.
This new single follows Zedd’s collaborative single with Jasmine Thompson called “Funny,” which was also accompanied by music video. The DJ made an appearance at last year’s Electric Zoo, which also held appearances from Benny Benassi and Above & Beyond.
“From the very beginning of Zedd’s set, people were on their feet dancing and vibing to his beats and familiar songs and remixes,” mxdwn reviewer Lexi Houghton explained. “At this point, the crowd of people was so large that people were packed tightly together in their groups and dancing was actually a challenge in the lawn space. Every set was a banger and it was like the crowd showed up particularly for Zedd.”
