Cold Waves festival is coming back to Los Angeles’ Mayan Theater with a night of industrial electronic music. For the past nine years, Cold Waves have been producing industrial music festivals based out of Chicago. This will be the third Los Angeles show for one night only, featuring Front 242, Consolidated and Paul Barker and Chris Connelly. The show will begin on September 30, 2021 and will last through the wee hours of October 1. Wax Trax! collectables and merch including original vinyl, test pressings, vintage posters, CDs and t-shirts will be available for purchase at their showcase.
Born in 2012, Cold Waves began as a memorial concert for fallen Chicago musician and sound man Jamie Duffy.
The efforts to raise money for Duffy’s family has now grown into a global destination, celebrating classic industrial music and supporting fundraisers for suicide prevention.
This third Los Angeles showcase will feature headlining act Front 242, a Belgian electronic and industrial group, who are most known for their loud sound, aggressive stage presence, smoke, and bright flashing lights during their live performances. American industrial and dance group, Consolidated will also perform. They’re known for their enticing radical activism through their music, focusing on vegetarianism, women’s rights, animal rights, fighting racism and homophobia. Their sound draws influence from hip-hop, rock and electronic music.
Grab your tickets, put on your finest black attire and get ready to dance and brood at this night of industrial music.
