Lost Horizons Shares Blissful New Song “Every Beat That Passed” Featuring Kavi Kwai

Lost Horizons, the duo featuring Cocteau Twins member Simon Raymonde and Richie Thomas of Dif Juz have teamed up with Swedish singer and producer Kavi Kwai for “Every Beat That Passed.” This song will be featured on part one of the group’s upcoming studio album In Quiet Moments, which will be out on December 4. The rest of the record will be out by February 26, 2021.

“Every Beat That Passed” is accompanied by a music video directed by Jonathan Caouette. This unique visual first shows a dead landscape, devoid of any life, which is intercut with images of dancers and cut and paste animation that is reminiscent of the 1970s. The track itself has a slight dream pop feel, with a mesmerizing hook, jangly guitars and keyboards and rock infused basslines. Its verses lead the listener into an psychedelic pop explosion, with its catchy melodies and carefree spirit that put the listener at ease.

“Discovering Kavi Kwai was akin to roaming the beaches of Bognor with a defective metal detector and discovering a whopping blue diamond. She is from Sweden and on hearing her music, I vowed to create a track especially for her,” the band’s Simon Raymonde said in a press release. “When I received her vocal back, I had that unusual experience of simultaneously laughing and crying at the same time.”

This upcoming record is set to feature appearances from Porridge Radio, Marissa Nadler, Penelope Isles, Tim Smith of Midlake, C Duncan and Ren Harvieu. The band’s previous record Ojala, was released in 2017.
